Rev. Jack Abel, MDiv, MBA, is Senior Director of Spiritual Care for Caron Treatment Centers. Co-founder and current president of Spiritual Care Addiction Treatment Professionals, Rev. Jack also serves in a volunteer role as CFO of the Center for Spiritual Care and Pastoral Formation. An ordained interfaith minister with past service as an endorsed substance abuse chaplain and pastor in the United Methodist Church, he is also a member in good standing of the North American Academy of Liturgy and A World Alliance of Interfaith Clergy.
Part 2: Children of the Opioid Epidemic
Jerry Moe, MA, is an internationally acclaimed expert in helping children of addicted parents across cultures to recover and thrive; his programs and materials are used around the world. His book Understanding Addiction and Recovery Through a Child’s Eye received the 2005 America Honors Recovery Award from the Johnson Institute, and NACoA’s presented its first Ackerman/Black Award to Jerry in 2000 for “significantly improving the lives of children of alcoholics in the United States and around the world.” In January, he was honored with the prestigious 2017 annual Beamer Award by Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.
