National Interpreter Appreciation Day
On May 4, a group gathered in the Davis Memorial Chapel to honor the Interpreters in the Department of Language Services at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.
“Interpreters are Language Service First Responder,” says Rev. María Teresa Jones. “They are lights who illuminate and bring clarity into very dark and beautiful places. The light that shines within them provides hope, information, clarity to our patients, families and out health care providers.”
“With exquisite professionalism, precision, compassion, and clarity, they transform technical and difficult medical information from the English language to the patient’s, primary and preferred language—helping the patients feel seen, heard, valued, and respected.”
Thank you, interpreters, for sharing your light!
