Bryan will also follow-up in June with “Part 2” on sustainability efforts within our health systems and other organizations.
Bryan Schroeder is a practicing nurse at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist (AHWFB), with a community health, intensive, and emergency care background. He is also pursuing a masters in public health, with one more course to go. Upon completion of his MPH, he plans to be working on the intersection of human health and the environment, particularly the healthcare industry’s impacts on the surrounding community’s health. Bryan also is an executive member of the North Carolina Clinicians for Climate action, and serves as the Health Sciences sustainability team leader. He possesses a wealth of knowledge in this area and will start us off, in a two part series for our Grand Rounds, by sharing about the many impacts that climate change has on the health of individuals and communities. Particularly for this Grand Rounds, he will share about air quality, increases of intensity and frequency of meteorological events, disruptions in food quality and quantity, and the mental health toll that occurs from a changing climate.
We are tremendously excited to learn from Bryan, both in February and later in June, when we hope he will also help us think through how our Division can be part of the solution vs. problem in terms of sustainability. Please join us at the Zoom link below on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022 at 9 a.m. for what is sure to be an enlightening and lively presentation by our Wake Forest regional expert in this area.
