What in the World is God Up To? Discernment with Systems
How can the venerable Christian practice of discernment help us in a world of increasingly complex systems and institutions? Elizabeth Liebert will introduce the practice of Social Discernment, an adaption of discernment that helps us reflect on how God might be at work within institutions and inviting us to join in that work.

Elizabeth Liebert, SNJM, is Professor of Spiritual Life at San Francisco Theological Seminary and a member of the doctoral faculty of the Graduate Theological Union specializing in spirituality, spiritual formation, and spiritual direction. She has served as Dean and Vice President for Academic Affairs at San Francisco Theological Seminary and President of the Society for the Study of Christian Spirituality. She has authored, co-authored, or edited six books and numerous articles, including Soul of Discernment: A Spiritual Practice for Communities and Institutions.
